Player: DJ Okoth
Class: 2028
Height: 6’6
School: Barlett
Starting to look more into the Class of 2028 around the nation, we recently were able to catch up with a premier prospect in the country in 2028 6’6 DJ Okoth from Barlett High School. Certainly a prospect that has been catching the eyes of many early on, Okoth recently added another big offer to his strong list already from Tennessee, giving him his second SEC offer on the books.
We spoke to him about it and his overall thoughts on the program, as well as what else we learned about him this summer when we spoke to him. Check out the latest.
Tennessee Offer:
“It is a blessing. I went to the camp and played hard. Then, the next day, they called my mom and wanted to give me an offer to Tennessee. What stood out to me was how many staff members they have to help the program and players. And also, how big the facility was. I know that Tennessee is in the SEC, and one of the people I know from Memphis, Kennedy Chandler, went there also.”
Game Description:
“I would describe my game as a hardworking player that plays with a motor, and also a player who plays the right way.”
Recruitment Update:
Though it is early for Okoth, he is still tracking as one of the premier prospects in the country. Ranked No. 13 by ESPN in the Class of 2028, Okoth has already been garnering eyes from many programs around, including Mississippi State, Memphis, Tennessee State, Alabama State, UT-Martin, and UIC. Now, you can add Tennessee to the mix with an offer on board.
When we first spoke with Okoth not long ago, he mentioned that his dream schools were North Carolina and Duke.
We shall see who else enters the picture for this 6’6 prospect.
