Game Breakdown:
Cloer has been a premier prospect in the country for quite some time, as he sits clearly as a Top 50 (Top 25 for some national outlets) throughout. Phenom Hoops has had the chance to watch Cloer more than many since being here in North Carolina. When you talk about his game, Cloer has shown time after time that he can be a clear weapon with upside left in his game. Cloer has a unique blend of skill, shot-making, and skill as a 6’7 prospect. He is at his best when he is decisive, whether that is getting to his spots for his jumper or attacking off the bounce quickly. Cloer’s ability to get to his spots and be a shot-maker from outside clearly attracts the eyes of college coaches, scoring from behind the arc with ease. However, Cloer has that gear that allows him to cover space, attack off the bounce, and get inside to finish strong and at the rim. He brings a smooth overall feel in being comfortable in operating from multiple levels, but he also does a great job in flourishing as a decision-maker and making the right plays.
What Has Been Said from Phenom Hoops
“Cloer has had a strong start to the summer with CP3, as we have been seeing more of his game and how effective he can be. I really do like his impact on the court, and when he is decisive, Cloer is at his best. Whether it is getting to his spots in catch-and-shoot situations, pulling up in rhythm for his shot from three, or attacking strong off the bounce and getting to the rim, Cloer has such an exceptional feel for the game and blends in effortlessly with the offense. It is easy to see why he is being recruited by so many high-major programs, and he looks to be one of the clear leaders for the CP3 2026 EYBL team. Expect him to have a big summer once again.”
“The appeal of a 6-foot-6 freshman wing who can reliably run a team, score in a variety of ways, and conduct himself as a leader on both ends of the floor should be self-explanatory. He’s smart and skilled, but also possesses the necessary blend of toughness and athleticism to make it far. Cloer is already an extremely versatile piece with the ability to produce and be utilized in a slew of different ways. He’s an excellent passer with a high IQ, polished scoring prowess, and the ability to consistently create for himself and others off the bounce. He’s very impressive, but the fact that he’s only in his first year of high school (no reclassification) should strike legitimate fear in the rest of the state over the foreseeable future.” – Freshman Season
“Cloer really was able to flourish as a 6’7 shotmaker on Day 2, as he hit multiple threes and led an impressive offensive charge. Regarded as one of the top players, he is at his best when he is in attack mode and hunting for his shot, coming off screens or finding open spots and rising up for his shot, or simply just attacking downhill, especially with his ability to cover so much ground. He led an impressive offensive attack on Day 2.”
“Cloer is a polished three-level scorer with the ability to create clean looks, set up others, and take whatever he wants offensively. He’s a useful post-up option with vision, ball skills, and a smooth perimeter stroke. Cloer finishes well through contact and above the rim. Defensively, he plays hard and naturally overwhelms opponents with his combination of length, motor, and overall instincts. Cloer blocks shots at a solid rate and secure rebounds with relative ease—where he’s able to consistently push the break in transition.”
