Player: Malachi Moreno
Class: 2025

It was a big Friday for several programs around the country, as one of the top big men in the country was set to announce his commitment. 2025 7’1 Malachi Moreno had all eyes watching his way and ultimately announced that he would be heading to Kentucky. Check out what we have said in the past about his game and what he said previously about the program.
Game Description:
“I would describe my game like Anthony Davis. I have the post-up game, I can stretch the floor, I can block shots, defend, and rebound. I can shoot the ball; I can impact the game in different ways as well. I do whatever my team needs me to do. I do the work for the name on the front of my jersey.”
What He Said About Kentucky previously:
“Love the program. I like the way they are using Tre Mitchell right now and how they have used bigs in the past. It has been an ongoing building relationship since the beginning of my sophomore year, and it has been great. They have been telling me that I have earned the scholarship and that it is in my hands. They said it also depends on how hard I want to keep working and keep getting better.”
What Has Been Said by Phenom Hoops:
“Moreno came in as one of the top bigs and he proved that at the camp. When you talk about his game, you see the impact he has offensively but what impressed me was his impact in other areas of the court. Offensively though, he is a fluid 7’1 center who runs the floor, moves extremely well, scores at the rim, and is comfortable in a variety of areas. But again, what impressed me the most was his ability to impact the game on the boards as well as altering shots defensively. He has tremendous recovery at his size and timing, as he played at a high level all week long.”
“Moreno was something else to start the day, as the 7-footer really was able to showcase his entire package and impact on both sides of the ball. Though he stands at 7’1, he moves extremely well on the floor, running from rim to rim, operating well in the paint, attacking the basket in pick-and-rolls, but also comfortable from a variety of areas. Moreno impressed me with his offensive feel for the game but impressed me more with what he did outside his offense. He excels well in attacking the boards but also protecting the rim. Even when beaten at times, he has terrific recovery in altering shots.”
