Diving more into the players and talent we saw at the Carolina Rise Summer Showcase, we now take a look at 2024 5’11 Janiah Shular with 1of1 Prep. She is one that really stood out immediately on the court with her play. She had a tremendous Game 1, as she was dominant throughout and couldn’t be stopped, but also backed that up with consistent play throughout the rest of the day. When you talk about her game though, there is a lot to like about what she brings to the table.
She is one that really can be strong in attacking and getting to the basket, finishing well in the paint, around defenders, and embracing contact as well. Time after time, she displayed how physical she can be and her ability to make plays off the bounce and get inside the defense. But she also does a great job in bringing that versatile feel to the court; whether it is stretching the defense, creating off the bounce, seeing and reading the floor, making plays in transition, or making plays on the boards, Shular simply is one that understands the nature of being productive.
She has had a strong summer so far, but expect her name to pop up more with college coaches as her summer and season continue over the next year or so.
