Phenom Hoops mentioned about him heading into the David Rose Memorial Day Classic and he didn’t disappoint.

2021 Omarion Bodrick solidified himself as a must-see type prospect with his length, athleticism, and ability to be a difference maker on both ends of the floor. Coming into the Phenom Hoops David Rose MDC, we had this to say about the 2021 prospect.

“We’ve been familiar with Bodrick for quite a while now. He’s grown physically and has consistently gotten better over the years, but now looks ready to start truly dominating his competition. There’s already so much to like about Bodrick and his approach to the game. He built his foundation by playing incredibly hard and establishing smart defensive habits, but has worked to become a pretty intriguing offensive threat with clear upside. Bodrick’s feel for the game seems to improve each time he competes, even though he already understands how to carve out a role alongside any group of teammates. He possesses an exceptional frame with size, length, explosion, and unbelievable fluidity, which tends to make him a matchup problem against all types of opponents.”

After watching him yet again over the long weekend, it is clear to see why programs are starting to catch on.

So far this AAU season, Bodrick has been able to display his capabilities but also learn what he has to continue to work on.

“I have to keep working and lift my teams so we can win each and every tournament we enter,” he told Phenom Hoops.

His DTA Elite 17u didn’t disappoint at all. In fact, many scouts came away highly impressed with the overall talent. But it hasn’t been a surprise to Bodrick, as he knows that if everybody competes, this team can play with the best of them.

“I feel that we are a good team,” he said. “When we paly as one, we compete with anybody in the nation. We paly with only nine people, so everybody holds quality minutes, so when we get in, they have to play their part which they do.”

So, what is Bodrick’s role though with DTA Elite?

“I would describe my game as a high motor player who has a presence on the court. I don’t look to score all the time and would rather score through the flow of the game.”

Add on top of his ability to be a defensive presence, a lengthy prospect that runs the floor, and one that can have an impact on the game in so many ways, you have yourself a high-level potential prospect in the class of 2021.

Right now though, it may be hard to understand why he doesn’t hold an offer quite yet but Bodrick informed Phenom Hoop Report that Cincinnati, Charlotte, East Tennessee State, East Carolina, Wake Forest and others have been expressing interest.

“A lot of them say I have a high motor and they like the way I attack the basket, as well as my leadership,” Bodrick said when asked what the coaches have talked about with his game.

It is only a matter of time until this 6’7 versatile forward starts attracting the offers. He showed what he is capable of doing at the last Phenom Hoop Report event but again, he is only scratching the surface of his full potential, which is scary to think about.
