Tavion is an extremely athletic, long and versatile wing with powerful leaping ability and great agility. Used as a stretch four and a wing all of last season because of his rebounding prowess and length, Tavion also demonstrates the ability to create off the dribble and get to the rim and hits the mid-range jumper at a good rate. He was very productive last season flashing to the high post where he was able to take advantage of his quick first step and get to the rim off a quick rip or use the turnaround jumper and take advantage of his very good shot-making skills. He has some shiftiness driving to the rim using stutter steps and hesitations to keep defenders off balance and side steps to score around defenders. He has a nice combination of length, quickness and shot-making skills both with the jumper and the floater and has a nice touch around the rim. Tavion has a fairly quick release and his shot mechanics are sound and fluid. He gets great extension and has a high release which coupled with a long wingspan makes it difficult to block when he gets into the lane for the jumper. Tavion uses basic crossovers or rips into a rangy and powerful first step and his quickness allows him to beat many defenders. He does a great job using hesitations to keep defenders off balance. He can explode to the rim off a hesitation or hit the pull-up jumper with good consistency. His versatility extends to the defensive end where he can defend multiple positions effectively. He is a strong leaper and has good timing for rebounds. Tavion takes advantage of his lateral quickness and length both defending the dribble and as an effective defender in passing lanes as well. Tavion should have a breakout year! He's totally capable of filling it up from anywhere and scoring in bunches and now with departures will have an opportunity to move to his more natural position as a guard where he should flourish and emerge as one of the 757's best scorers! He's a next level prospect coaches should begin eyeing him now!
