Jeriah Coleman 7'0 220 (7'2 wingspan) 2020 Great Bridge Christian Academy (Chesapeake VA)

Jeriah is a towering figure at 7'0 220 adding nearly two inches in the last two months and his wide shoulders are showing signs of just beginning to fill out. He arrived on campus at Great Bridge Christian a raw and lanky framed prospect who Coach Donald Hand projected a potential high major once he developed his body. As for his basketball skills, although raw the feel and potential was obvious and the strong work ethic a compliment. Jeriah is super light on his feet and runs the floor exceptionally well. He is extremely fluent for his size, agile. He can put the ball on the floor to create for himself and is quick diving to the rim where he is lob target thanks to his massive reach (7'2 wingspan). He gets up surprisingly well in space. Jeriah has a nice touch around the rim both shooting the jumper and on layup attempts. He makes the reverse layup routinely thanks to his length and touch around the rim but it demonstrates his ability to finish with finesse in addition to his ability to finish with power which will only become more emphatic with his continued physical development. He has very good shot mechanics with a smooth stroke and demonstrates the potential to be a floor stretcher able to knock down shots from beyond the arc when he gets his feet set. Jeriah can use the ball fake nicely and attack defenders with an increasing array of face up and back to the basket moves. He uses long strides, is quick and decisive attacking as a face up player yet has a nice mix of reverse pivot and drop steps he can go to with his back to the basket from the mid post or on duck ins. Also has a rapidly developing jump hook which is nearly impossible to block from a seven footer releasing the ball already above the rim. He is most comfortable facing the rim and is very effective flashing to the high post where he pivots and quickly elevates into his jumper demonstrating a very smooth stroke. He can also rip and drive to the rim and score. He has added a nice step back jumper on a continually growing arsenal facing the rim. He can snap off a hard crossover dribble showing some creativity off the bounce. He has the tools to be a monster defensively! Nimble enough to step out and switch ball screens, defending in space and using his huge reach to contest. Jeriah is quick enough to recover for blocks at the rim. His length and quick leaping ability should help him develop into a dominant rim protector. He has good instincts and timing. Jeriah has incredible upside given his offensive tools, defensive versatility and solid feel. He is fast becoming a giant not only in stature but in his on court exploits. A transfer from West Anchorage High School in Anchorage Alaska, Jeriah is largely unknown now but it won't be long before he becomes a household name in Division I recruiting circles.
