Dominic Strother 6'8 185 2021 Central High School (Woodstock VA) / Boo Williams 15U EYBL

Dominic brings so much versatility and is an impact presence on both ends of the floor. He possesses a diverse skill set offensively to go along with great footwork in the paint that makes him much more than your average big body. He is extremely long and athletic; he can impact games in the paint and also stretch the floor with a very good jumper and three point range. Dominic is a very good shooter with a high release, very fluid stroke and deep range. Very comfortable at either forward position showing amazing body control on drives to the rim, good coordination and ball handling skills. One of the biggest impacts he made for his high school team this past season that helped earn him The Northern Virginia Daily's Player of the Year honors was his ability with added strength after an off season in the weight room to attack the basket more aggressively and finish above the rim. Dominic has become a much better finisher and is able to play through contact as a result of the added strength. A bouncier player as a result of his weight training and conditioning he has become more impactful on the glass on both ends of the floor and has become a walking double/double! Dominic also plays well off the ball and uses cuts and backdoors to get to the rim. He can get his own shot off the dribble again demonstrating solid body control, strength and decision making skills, also a very good and willing passer. He is athletic and has good agility and very capable ball handling skills. More comfortable facing the rim he moves off the ball intelligently flashing to open spots and using duck-ins. He can also post up and score. Has great hands and makes quick, decisive moves around the basket. He recognizes and is a good passer out of double teams. Dominic has a great touch and timing around the rim for stick backs and rebounds. I would call him a diverse scorer thanks to his combination of sound footwork, skills, length and ability to absorb contact and score. Defensively his length and strength makes him an impact paint presence. He rebounds at a high rate and also has the footwork and sound skills to defend multiple positions. He doesn't mind battling for position inside and has the strength to hold his own in the paint but also has the footwork and mobility to defend opposing wings out on the perimeter. Dominic is continuing to fill out physically and is building a frame that coupled with his length makes for an imposing physical player. A scary matchup given his skill and versatility! Watch for him over the next two years as he has the potential to be a mid to high major target!
