Phenom Hoops has gotten through the spring and summer and one player that continues to come to mind is Zavian Jackson. The 6’2 guard from Cummings High School has put on a show the first day he stepped on the floor at the NC Phenom 150, throughout the rest of the season with Brand X.
He continued to display a unique talent and really made a name with his athletic ability to throw down thunderous dunks. All his work paid off though, as he earned his first offer last week from the Citadel. Phenom Hoops caught up with Jackson shortly after the offer, as he talked about it and more about his recruitment overall.
“The Citadel from what I hear is a great school and it is Division I,” Jackson told Phenom Hoops about the program. “It’s a great school if you want to get where you need to be in life and an athlete.”
“It’s different, yes, because it’s a military school but it also has special benefits as well. I planned on (getting more information about the program), yes, and going for a visit soon.”
The Citadel might have been the first program to offer the talented guard from North Carolina but it seems that several other schools have picked up their interest, with possible offers coming around the corner.
Western Carolina, UMES, Longwood, NC Central, Catawba, Lees’McRae, UNC Pembroke, VMI, and Chowan University, with Longwood, Lees-McRae, and NC Central showing the strongest interest of the group listed above.
Jackson might have been one of the most popular prospects that Phenom Hoops had this summer, as he continued to show up at multiple events this summer, continuing to solidfy our thoughts as analysts. So, what has the Phenom Hoops events done for him in his eye'
“It’s been great, you get to learn a lot of new players and you see so many coaches there, watching your games,” Jackson said. “It’s a great exerpeince and I like the Phenom Hoops Events because they always have good competition at their tournaments. There are very few games where you have to let down your guard because everyone there can play.”
