6’4 ’29 Nolan Allen (Dub Salem)
Given all the ways he impacted the game as an all-around piece, there’s a lot to like about Allen’s overall growth as a player. He possesses an intriguing skillset, particularly for his size, and the versatility to operate in various roles on the court. Allen utilizes his size well to cause matchup problems for opponents, able to finish effectively around the basket, handle the ball, and knock down jumpers along the perimeter. He rebounds his position, defends with energy and toughness, and is willing to fill in the gaps however necessary. Allen is already impactful, but continues to blossom as an all-around piece.
5’11 ’29 Ricardo Oriol (Apex Spurs)
Although we watched him countless times throughout the travel ball season, it’s difficult to say anything other than positives about the way Oriol leads this team. He’s an incredibly skilled, crafty lead guard with excellent scoring polish and feel as a creator for himself and others. Oriol displays impressive feel and pace when dictating the action. He breaks down opponents with ease and effortlessly navigates where he wants off the bounce. Oriol is a nice finisher with a smooth middle game and very reliable jumper from midrange or beyond the arc. That being said, he’s a willing passer with a sharp playmaking sense and desire to make the right play. Oriol also anticipates well to force turnovers defensively.
6’5 ’29 Jeremiah Thomas (Dub Salem)
Between his size, polish, and athleticism, Thomas continues to be a real matchup problem for all types of opponents. At 6-foot-5, he’s a versatile wing with the ability to consistently create, score in various ways, and outwork others on both ends of the floor. Thomas knows how to utilize his physical tools to his advantage, particularly as a defender and rebounder, and is capable of guarding up and down a lineup with no issue. Offensively, he’s able to apply pressure from all levels, generate clean looks for himself and others, and make his presence felt in transition. His toolkit and skillset should make him one of the top prospects in his class.
5’10 ’29 Eli Nelson (Harvest Development)
Despite his unassuming nature, it’s easy to appreciate everything Nelson brings to a team. He’s a smart, scrappy, unselfish floor general who leads by example on either side of the ball. Nelson displays a reliable handle and playmaking sense, but also stands out as a crafty scorer off the bounce and lethal shooter with deep range. He looks to set up others and make the right play whenever possible, but is more than capable of asserting himself as a scorer from various levels. Nelson provides consistent effort defensively and shows a willingness to make hustle plays whenever possible. His steady, refined game makes him an impactful piece in every setting.
