6'4 unsigned senior has the nickname, 'Tank.' He is a physically gifted player that often goes unnoticed especially since they have UNC signee Brandon Huffman and 6'3 Washington signee Blake Harris. In the opening round of the Trot Nixon bracket of the Phenom Joe Miller Invitational, Aaron Simmons put together a double double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. While teammates Huffman and Harris are averaging a double double for the season, Simmons is a player that does all the little things that often don't show up in the box score. For the season, Simmons is averaging 7.2 PPG, 5 RPG, and 2 APG.

First of all, Simmons can play and guard multiple positions and uses his strength and power attacking the rim. More importantly, he is a tremendous rebounder from the wing and has excellent anticipation and tremendous feel for the game. He plays with a high motor and isn't bashful about mixing it up for rebounds and loose balls. He brings intangibles of toughness and grit that is needed with every successful team. We have always been impressed with his 'no fear' approach to the game and carries that chip on his shoulder.

What is surprising to us at Phenom Hoop Report, he is still an unsigned senior and an injury kept him out last season and part of this past summer. Colleges that are looking for a player that can play, guard and defend multiple positions should definitely check him out. While his stats won't jump immediately out at you, he's a glue guy that is always making winning plays. He plays with a passion and has a purpose to his game.
