As the recruiting landscape continues to evolve, the Class of 2027 is already producing a group of prospects whose talent, production, and long-term upside demand early attention from college programs. Across the region, several players are separating themselves through consistent impact, physical tools, and skill sets that translate naturally to the next level. Whether it’s scoring versatility, defensive presence, playmaking feel, or positional size, these standouts are beginning to check the boxes coaches value most when evaluating future Division I contributors. Here’s a closer look at the names proving they deserve a firm place on recruiting boards moving forward.
2027 6’7 Jayon Connor (FCDS)
Connor has had a huge season and has really blossomed as a prospect over the last year. When talking about this 6’7 prospect, he brings a lot to the table, along with potential that should have college programs’ attention. Connor’s blend of athleticism, mobility, and production certainly stands out, as he flourishes with his ability to get to the rim, attack off the bounce, rebound, and impact the game on both sides of the ball. He holds one D1 offer already, but that list should start picking up more after this season and summer, especially with the upside he brings.
2027 6’5 Keyonee Terry (Southern Durham)
Terry is a player who I believe, goes a bit under the radar here in North Carolina but has been a critical piece for Southern Durham this season. The 6’5 bounce, long wing prospect gives you glimpses of what he is capable of bringing, and one can see that he has developed nicely in adding more overall. Terry excels in transition with his bounce and scoring ability, but it can’t be denied that he has improved with his perimeter game. You add that to his playmaking for others, defensive impact, and energy on the court, Terry is a sneaky D1 prospect that should get more attention.

2027 6’3 Nylan Rush (Leesville Road)
Rush has been having a strong season at Leesville Road, and when you watch him operate on the court, you have to find him a very intriguing prospect overall. As the leading guard of the offense, Rush has length, a quick burst, athleticism, and scoring impact all over the floor. He does a great job in attacking off the bounce, using a quick burst and length to score and get to the rim but also confident from outside. And even though he can be a strong scoring presence, he displays really good vision and court awareness in finding his teammates as well.
2027 6’7 Zeke Battier (Providence Day)
Battier is a prospect I find interesting, and it is clear he has been working on his game, playing with a ton of confidence as he helps lead his team this season. Battier is a forward that has good size but also moves well inside and out. He is comfortable in stretching the floor from outside, being a strong catch-and-shoot weapon but also runs the floor well, can operate out of the post, and brings value in several areas of the floor. He is another player that I think is going a bit under the radar but should get more looks with his play and growth.
