Lady Phenom Hoops was on deck once again for an excellent weekend of basketball on the girls’ side. Teams from all around the region came to compete and they brought us some intriguing talent. Our guy, Jay Lawson, was on deck to check out some of the teams and players, as he had this to say about them.
- 2032 Ivory Adams (Charlotte Dream Elite) has it going early for her team. Complete control of the game from the PG. Her energy & effort has them out to a big lead.
- 2031 Ava Taylor (CSF Select) has a smooth game. She’s scoring in every way possible in a touch matchup against AWE. Extremely high IQ for a 7th grader.
- 2031 Aubree Robinson (Charlotte Dream Elite) continues to prove she’s one of the best 7th graders in NC. She continues to expand her game & dominate.
- 2031 Gibson Russo (CSF Select) plays with a ton of heart. Impacts winning in a variety of ways. Her ability to get to the line & knockdown outside shots makes her extremely hard to guard.
- 2031 Kariss Wells (Palmetto 76ers/AWE) has great size & length for a 7th grader. Runs the floor well & has good hands. I look forward to seeing her reach her full potential with AWE.
- 2030 Carrington Wright (Team Mack) is a huge piece to this team. She does everything on offense & defense leading to a ton of points & turnovers. Her upside is impressive.
- 2030 Callina Haley (Team Mack) runs the show for this unit. Her quickness and ability to get paint touches makes her a tough guard. She’s smart with the ball in her hands & dangerous when on the attack.
- 2030 Abigail Bellis (Team Mack) very impressed with her size & ability. A taller guard that understands the game to go along with her motor. She’s dominated in the 2nd game of the day for Mack.
- 2030 Kennadi Lee (Team Unleashed) has showcased a deep bag in her two games today. She gets to her spots with ease. She has an array of counters for defenders that creates space to get off some tough shots.
- 2028 Armani Clemons (Charlotte Dream Elite) is an extremely dangerous lefty for CDE. She lives in the paint off the dribble. Has great anticipation on defense she has so many steals & layups this game I can’t even keep count.
- 2030 Jaelyn Rowan (Palmetto 76ers/AWE) is exciting to watch. Her energy on the floor is contagious. She hustles every play & shoots the 3 at a high clip. Her shot making ability from deep allows read close outs & attack the rim when needed.
- 2031 McKenzie Beatty (Palmetto 76ers/AWE) has an extremely poised game to be so young. Her IQ allows her to change pace & attack the game in different ways.
- 2032 Caitlyn Flemming (Palmetto 76ers/AWE) has tremendous upside. She’s by far one of the best 6th graders I’ve seen & it’s not even close. I expect her to be a high major prospect out of SC.
- 2027 Bri’Asia Rowe (Team Accelerate) very effective in the half court. Gets to the line at a high rate. Decent footwork around the rim.
- 2027 Christian Johnson (Team Mack UA) continues to be effective from deep. She’s hit some huge threes & free throws to help Mack get back into the game.
- 2027 Ashley Walker (Palmetto 76ers/AWE) is dangerous in transition. She continues to get it done at every event. The progression is her game is evident.
- 2032 Kaitlyn Clark (Team KST) plays the game with great pace. Understands how to space the floor & she’s shot ready when the ball comes her way. Very well rounded player.
- 2032 Chloe Green (Charlotte Dream Elite) the MVP has been dominating all weekend. She almost has a triple double in this championship game. Impacting the game on both ends of the floor she’s literally doing it all.
