Player: Brelyn Moses
Class: 2028
School: Rocky Mount
There are plenty of talented young prospects here in North Carolina and 2028 6’5 Brelyn Moses looks to be one of them. Coming off a tremendous high school season at Rocky Mount and shining already this spring/summer, Moses looks to be trending in the right direction. And that couldn’t be more evident with his latest offer from Villanova. With Coach Williford coming from Maryland and now at Villanova, it is no surprise that he was able to earn an offer since he held an offer from the Terps already.
Phenom Hoops caught up with Moses to get his early thoughts on the offer from Villanova and what he knows about them. Here is what he had to say:
Phenom: What are your thoughts on the offer from Villanova? What do you know about them and what stands out early on?
Moses: First off, I’m blessed to receive a big-time offer from Villanova. I’m just really blessed. Obviously, they just got a new head coach in Kevin Willard, so I just think they can be really good in the future. I know that they won the Big East in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022. They also have had some good combo guards come out of there at my position.
Phenom: Any thoughts of potentially visiting them down the road?
Moses: Yes sir, for sure. My family and I discussed it.
Moses has been a hot target early on as a prospect, as the 6’5 guard is coming off a huge high school season and has already earned offers from Maryland, Wichita State, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, and West Virginia to go along with Villanova. He will be in the running as one of the top players in the state of North Carolina in the coming years.
What Has Been Said by Phenom Hoops:
“Moving forward, we look at a player who easily stood out among the most productive campers on display, Brelyn Moses. He’s a strong, athletic forward prospect with an enticing skillset and versatility on both ends of the floor. Moses can create well for himself, find success without the ball, or take advantage of mismatches whenever possible. He’s too physically overwhelming for the majority of smaller opponents, where he’s able to post up and finish through contact. However, Moses possesses the skill and fluidity to cause problems for bigger opponents along the perimeter. He rebounds at a high rate and consistently blocks shots. Next in his development process is working on becoming a craftier ball-handler, as it would make him a more complete player. Coach Adams on Moses: “Brelyn is an advanced player amongst his peers. His physical tools allow him to overpower opponents on both ends of the floor. He leads through his production on the court.” Moses proved to be one of the top performers in attendance and should have a highly productive freshman season at Rocky Mount.”
