So many people already know about the talent in the Class of 2027 and 2028, which is why we are talking early about prospects in the Class of 2029 that you will be hearing more about in the coming years. Though they are just starting their story, players are already garnering early recognition from national outlets and are showing why they have a chance to be something special.
We introduced one of the top centers in the country the other day, but the Wildcat Select 15u has plenty of other names that you will be hearing about down the road in my opinion. Another player that was quite impressive to watch and brings a lot of versatility is 2029 6’8 Julian Sam from Centerville HS (OH). Sam looks to be just starting his journey as a prospect, earning his first offer from Florida State not long ago. But I believe he is one that several other high-major programs will enter the picture for, especially with what he is able to provide at his size and from multiple areas on the court.
Again, he is a 6’8 prospect that uses his size to his advantage but is comfortable inside and out. Sam does a great job of rebounding and pushing out in transition, displaying handles, feel, and court awareness to attack and create, or make plays for others. Sam scores well off the bounce, attacking downhill, finishing at the rim or with touch, as well as through contact. But he is comfortable as well with his pull-up game and playing off the ball from behind the arc, proving to be a multi-level scorer. With his fluidity and size though, he can play and defend multiple positions with ease, making him a highly enticing prospect with his overall skillset along with potential.
