The state of North Carolina is blessed with an overabundance of talent. In the North Carolina 2018 class, 60 plus players signed with D1 schools and another 40 plus signed to play at the D2, D3, NAIA or Juco level. Quite impressive numbers! This year, the 2019 class is on the same course to have 100 plus players continue to play at the collegiate level. In our unsigned senior spotlight, we want to take a closer look at 6'4 Cole Perry of Carson High School in the small town of China Grove, North Carolina who we strongly feel is a scholarship-worthy player

6’4 senior Cole Perry is the lone returning starter from Carson High School’s 26-3 regional team. Cole averaged 12 PPG last year on a team that had four players average in double digit scoring. Unfortunately, he tore his ACL in June during the first week of summer team camp. Up to that point, Cole was having a really good spring with the Carolina Wolves AAU team. Since his surgery back on July 2, 2018, Cole has been working extremely hard to get back into basketball shape. With his tremendous work ethic, Cole was released earlier than expected and returned to action on December 5th where he scored 13 points. Since then, Perry has been averaging 16 PPG and 6 RPG. He has continued to progress and feels more like the player he was before the injury. Perry is a 40% 3-point shooter and a great rebounder from the guard position. He is comfortable playing either guard position.

In speaking with head coach Brian Perry, he stated the following. “Cole is a great shooter but more importantly he is a player that makes his team and teammates better. He can affect a game in so many way, hitting shots, setting up his teammates and on the defensive end with his length. Cole is also the prototypical gym rat. He stays in the gym working to improve his game. He also works hard in the classroom and carries a 3.7 GPA.”
