The Phenom Hoops 2027 rankings feature plenty of recognizable names near the top, but college-level talent extends well beyond the first 20 prospects. The players ranked between 21–30 represent a particularly intriguing collection of under-the-radar recruits who bring production, versatility, upside, and clear value to the court. Although they may not always receive the same attention as those ranked ahead of them, each possesses qualities that can translate to the next level. College coaches searching for potential steals should become more familiar with these sneaky prospects and monitor them closely throughout their senior seasons.

2027 6’11 Modou Ndiaye (Concord Academy)

Ndiaye is one that we have talked about on several occasions this season, but we are back again because we believe this is a big man that has potential but also understands where he can impact the game. At 6’11 and with his ability to run the floor, Ndiaye is able to provide an impact with his ability to finish around the basket and just bring an overall motor on the court. But where he can flourish right now is his impact on the defensive side as a shotblocker, while his overall offensive game continues to develop down the road. Again, this is a big man that has shown flashes of potential but could be a long-term player.

2027 6’6 Carlos Marshall (Victory Christian)

Marshall is an underrated prospect that just does what is needed from him. He may not be flashy, but with his strong frame, physicality, and ability to finish strong inside, he is able to be an impact player. Marshall just knows how to do the little things and find ways to impact the game, whether it is needed for him to capitalize on scoring opportunities or just be a strong presence in the paint or on the glass. He may get overlooked at times, but he is a player that deserves the attention from college coaches as a sneaky forward that plays bigger than listed.

2027 6’0 Brayden Gatling (SW Guilford)

Gatling is one of the better point guards in the state and is a true leader on the floor for his team. He brings a strong balance of scoring and creating for himself, as well as being a leader and playmaker for others. Overall, you have to like his composure and feel with the ball in his hands, as Gatling plays with such strong composure, picking his spots, attacking what is given to him, finding ways to score with hi jumper as well as get to the basket, and overall, just make the right reads with the ball in his hands. With his offensive capabilities along with controlling the game, and add on top his pesky defensive presence, Gatling should appeal to college coaches more.

2027 6’2 Hunter McGrath (Hoggard)

McGrath is a sneaky prospect whom college coaches should keep firmly on their radar. He is an intelligent, smooth guard who creates scoring opportunities with ease and confidently controls the offense. His poise under pressure, court vision, and ability to consistently set up teammates allow him to operate as a dependable floor general. McGrath is also an efficient three-level scorer and knockdown perimeter shooter who utilizes enough variety to keep defenders guessing. Add in his rebounding ability and underrated physicality as a defender, and he provides considerably more value than initially meets the eye.
