2026 Logan Johnson (Carmel Christian)

With the turnover at Carmel Christian from last year’s team to this year’s team, Johnson was able to quickly make his mark on the program. Expecting a big year from him, he quickly showcased his impact as a true scoring factor on the court, flourishing not only from the perimeter but off the bounce as well. Johnson can be a deadly weapon with his fluid release, confidence from outside, and his overall range, something he showcased a lot last year. But we should get even more of his ability score off the bounce, attack and finish through contact, and be a big threat as a playmaker, especially with the ball in his hands more.

2026 AJ Washington (Fort Mill)

Washington, coming from Davidson Day, was able to quickly flourish as one of the more impressive guards at the event. He is a big-bodied and strong guard who excels at his best when he is getting downhill, attacking the basket, embracing contact, and scoring through defenders. He was able to show that over and over at the Phenom Team Camp, but also reminded how much of a weapon he can be in catch-and-shoot situations from behind the arc. With more opportunities this year, expect Washington to have a big year.

2027 Jazir Wright-McGhee (New Hanover)

Wright-McGee is a rising guard here in North Carolina and in the Class of 2027, as he will now be leading the charge fully for New Hanover. He has a great frame overall as a younger prospect, but operates with a smooth feel. He is a strong playmaking guard who sees the floor, plays under control, scores well through contact and can attack the paint, but also be an effective option from multiple levels. You can still see the potential in his game, which should intrigue many with what he could show this upcoming season at New Hanover.

2026 Jim Gatehouse (South Meck)

Gatehouse should see an uptick in his recruitment… especially with what he showed at the Team Camp and what he has demonstrated over the last month. You can see the confidence he has in his game, along with the work he has been putting in. He has been able to really thrive off the ball in knocking down shots from outside, opening up the offense, and getting to his spots with a quick release. But with his 6’5 frame and size, he can get physical in attacking and scoring,g or finding his way to the free throw line. Gatehouse really showed he can be a multi-level scoring threat.

2029 Kam Rice (Wren)

Yes, we are talking about an incoming freshman, but going back on what I saw, Rice was simply impressive with what he showed, and I’m eager to see how much more he will add to his game. He has great length at around 6’3 but looks like he could grow more. He plays with a mature understanding of how to score on the court, and he has terrific vision. Whether he was facilitating, scoring off the bounce, or showing his shot-making ability, Rice was able to open up the eyes of many on his game and his potential.
