With summer coming to an end, recruiting news is starting to heat up with players in the Class of 2026. Schools around the country are looking for the next wave of talent in the coming years, as offers are rolling in and decisions are being made.

A player ranked as a Top 150 player by outlets, 2026 6’3 Jermel Thomas, has his eyes on not only three programs but also a decision date coming up. Thomas has been a standout for the Riverside Hawks all summer long, as he has been catching eyes with his play. Whether it is his scoring or facilitating, Thomas has been carving up opponents, especially with his ability to be a true playmaker.

Schools have been coming his way this summer, but it seems that he is down to three. Seton Hall, Providence, and St. Louis seem to be the three programs he is down to and has his attention. He also has a visit set up for St. Louis on July 31st.

In a recent report on Zags Blog, he broke down more of each school, saying this:

Article: Three schools emerge with four-star guard Jermel Thomas closing in on decision | Zagsblog

Providence: “Corey Wright and Kim English, they love my game. I got to visit them again soon. [I like] everything. They showed me around, I met the players. I thought the players weren’t gonna talk to me because they’re older, but they were really talking to me. I had fun with them. Kim English, he’s very competitive.”

Saint Louis: “They like how fast I play in transition and they like my motor. I got a high motor, I’m very competitive.”

Seton Hall: “[Shaheen Holloway] is a New York guy. His energy is New York, it’s always high. I don’t really know a lot so far. I got to go visit there soon to really know about it.”

He also added with Phenom Hoops this about these three schools: “Top 3 schools, I have great relationships with the coaching staff.”

Thomas also posted shortly after that he would be deciding in 30 days (as of July 22), so look for a decision to be made in late August.
