Player: Thomas Vickery
Class: 2027
Height: 6’5
School: Myers Park
A player that has seen his stock take off over the last year, 2027 6’5 Thomas Vickery from Myers Park continues to trend in the right direction. Vickery has been making a name for himself with his size, athleticism, and skill set, as programs from all levels have been heading his way. He recently played on the Phenom Hoops platform once again, as we had this to say about his game:
“A rising prospect in the Class of 2027, Vickery will be a name many will be watching this upcoming season at his new school, Myers Park. But we got another glimpse of what we expect to be a big season for him. At 6’5, Vickery has a strong blend of size, athleticism, and skill set that allows him to be a factor all over the court. He is comfortable in creating for himself, hunting for his jumper or using his frame to get paint touches and finish over defenders. Vickery has no issue with putting you on a poster out in transition, as he is a high flyer and strong finisher. Vickery plays well within the team but demonstrates that he can create on his own as well as be a playmaker for others. Vickery should wake up many this year with his play at Myers Park.”
Expecting a big upcoming high school season at his new program, Vickery has been catching the eyes of college coaches all over and just earned his biggest offer yet from Tennessee. We spoke to him about that offer and got the latest in his recruitment. Check it all out below.
Tennessee Offer:
Vickery may have added his biggest offer yet over the weekend as Tennessee came rolling through. Certainly an offer that he is excited about, Vickery said that he was able to get a good look at the program and that the Vols stand pretty high on his list right now.
“I had a really good talk with everyone on the staff and Coach Barnes,” Vickery said about when they offered. “I went on a little tour of the school. They all just really liked my game and athletic ability. Coach Barnes told me my ability to shoot the ball will take me really far. I really enjoyed the players and the staff at the camp.”
“They stand pretty high on my list,” Vickery continued. “With a Hall of Fame coach and the way they play, I think it could be a good fit.”
Right now, Vickery has plans on heading back to Tennessee for a visit in either September or October, just not knowing if it will be an official or unofficial visit.
Recruitment Update:
Tennessee is now in the mix, but Vickery holds some other impressive offers as well. When Phenom Hoops spoke with him recently, he had mentioned that Mississippi State and ECU have been talking to him a lot. He also has had talks with Clemson but they have not yet offered. As far as visits go, Vickery has plans on heading down to Clemson in September or October and also check out Belmont in September.
