The 17u ACC Bronze Championship was a show. It featured a free-flowing Renegades (WV) team versus an athletic and hungry Team Phoenix Elite squad. The Renegades were able to get an early lead thanks to the shooting and shot-making ability of 6’1 G Andrew Shull and 5’11 G Tucker Datton who effortlessly shoot the ball and always looks like it’s going in. Team Phoenix Elite was able to climb back in the game in large part to 6’8 big man Alex Holt who was a load inside and finished with 32pts and earned Co-MVP honors. 6’3 G Kelin Parsons was also awarded Co-MVP and came up huge on the defensive end, challenging Shull all game. Down three with three seconds left in regulation, 6’5 W Jalen Ware was able to bomb a deep three for Team Phoenix Elite and send the game to overtime. In overtime, The Renegades were down four as Ethan Clay was able to hit a three and get fouled. He would end up missing the free throw and Team Phoenix Elite came away with a one-point 85-84 victory. Incredible game from both teams who are well coached and tough-minded.
