Robert McLeod

We take a look at a program that showed out at the Phenom Challenge, as the Palmetto Elite 17u went to Advance and left with a 4-0 record and opened a few eyes on players from the South Carolina area. Check out a few names from the program to keep an eye on.

2022 5’7 Robert McLeod – Cane Bay High School
McLeod averaged 12.6ppg, 4.4rpg, 5.8spg, and 4.0 apg this past season as he was named All-Region, All-State, and Region Player of the Year.  Watching him on the court, he is really able to mix it up no the court with his ability to penetrate or knock down shots with range.  He is a quick guard that can get it done on both ends of the floor.

2022 5’10 Tariq Shabazz – Pinewood Prep
Shabazz had a terrific high school season this past year, averaging 24.5ppg, 3.8rpg, 3.0spg, and 4.0apg, and was also named All-Region, All-State, and has racked up over 1,300 career points. Obviously he knows how to score the basketball, as the quick guard does a great job in penetrating and finding the opening in the defense. He also has great handles and excels in the open floor while also bringing pressure on the defensive end.

2024 6’1 Thure Peters – Pinewood Prep
Peters is an exchange student from Germany and is coming off a season in which he averaged 10.4ppg, 2.8rpg, 1.0spg, and 1.0apg.  He is a solid role player for this team with good size. He does a nice job in expanding the defense, as he recorded 106 three-point attempts this past season and shot 39 percent from behind the arc.

2022 6’0 Nazeal Johnson – Cane Bay High School
Johnson is coming off a season in which he averaged 9.9ppg, 2.2spg, and 1.7apg; he also earned All-Region honors. At the Phenom Challenge, he was able to create well for himself and score in bunches.  Scored from a variety of levels consistently.

20236’5 Thomas Robertson – Pinewood Prep
Robertson brings the size to this group and is coming off a season in which he was not far off from averaging a double-double at 8.6ppg and 8.3rpg. He was named All-Region and All-State this past season as well.
