We take a look back at some of the names from the Summer Havoc Showcase in Spartanburg July 12-13. See who made the list.

Trey Smith

SR1:

6’3 ’19 Earl Smith- Long-armed and athletic, Smith poses matchup problems when he is the lead ball handler (which he typically is) and simply cannot be contained by other guards; will rise up and finish over most players. He has quality three-level scoring ability, as well as relentlessness on the glass.

White:

5’11 ’19 Trey Smith- Could walk into almost any gym and immediately be the best shooter, from all three levels. Smith is a lethal scorer but isn’t selfish, always looking to make the best play available and possesses the guard skills and instincts necessary to be an extremely effective floor general.

6’10 ’19 Cooper Fowler- Strong big man with excellent touch around the basket, sneaky-quick feet, and a mechanically smooth three-point stroke; he gobbles up two-handed rebounds with ease and is a really nice rim protector. Fowler runs the floor well and will try to dunk anything possible; has great sealing ability in the post and is certainly stronger than everyone on the floor.

Silver:

6’3 ’20 Paul Mitchell- Forward with an efficient three-point shot; he spaces the floor well and keeps the ball moving on offense. Will hurt teams when left wide open from beyond the arc.

White:

6’8 ’20 Paul “P.J.” Hall- Impressive big man prospect with two-way polish and considerable upside; possesses a nice, strong frame that allows him to protect the paint and dominate the glass with relative ease. Hall has soft touch, displays great footwork around the rim, and is sneaky athletic.

6’2 ’20 Howard Davis-Wiles- Long, athletic wing with great decision-making skills; he’s an incredible passer that can score very effectively inside the arc or make a play for others. His wiry build and length are quite disruptive on defense, as he’s shown through quality on-ball defense and work on the glass.

6’0 ’20 Nicholas Brenegan- Solid three-level scorer; crafty with the ball and makes good decisions on when to score versus defer to teammates.

Southeast:

5’11 ’20 Jalen Coit- Potent scoring guard that has terrific feel and smoothness to his game, able to get a shot out of nothing. He’s quick and does a solid job attacking opposing ball handlers, forcing turnovers fairly often.

6’6 ’20 Dillon Brooks- Strong, athletic forward that dominates the glass on both ends of the floor and plays with an aggressive motor. He is a force down low; Brooks is more athletic than meets the eye and has the potential to be extremely coveted if he continues to grow.

6’2 ’20 Maliek Brown- Super-athletic guard that is capable of rising up and finishing over anyone; he possesses great speed and plays at a nice pace. Brown understands the strengths and weaknesses of his game and doesn’t try to force the issue on either end.

Silver:

6’3 ’20 Paul Mitchell- The floor-spacing shooter continued to keep his team afloat and remained a constant threat to knock down triple after triple. Mitchell was the consistent force for this Silver team.

White:

6’1 ’18 Bradley Childers- Hands down the toughest guy on the floor; Childers brings it every single possession, playing with a high motor at all times. He’s a polished three-level scorer that simply outworks opponents on both sides of the ball. Childers is a sneaky athlete with a really complete all-around game.

6’6 ’18 Jordan McFadden- Strong-bodied big man that frequently dominates the glass; he’s immovable down low and causes a ton of issues for opponents lacking a true brute down low.

Takeover:

6’4 ’18 Brayden Gault- Really strong three-level scorer that carried much of the scoring load for this team as the go-to option throughout the game. Plays with a tremendously high IQ and is a sneaky-good defender.

6’1 ’18 Domenick Bailey- Tough lead guard that does a phenomenal job of playing with or without the ball, making an impact in both ways consistently; he is a quality secondary creator with great vision that looks for teammates regularly. Simmons plays through contact and displays a high IQ.
