As the season continues to go on, there are plenty of players that have seemingly elevated their play and have continued to develop their feel, which is why their stock is rising this season.  One player that we have seen quite a few times but caught another viewing of recently was 2024 6’7 Isaiah Otyaluk from NC Good Better Best.

When we first viewed him, Otyaluk had that long, slender frame that intrigued you, but you could see that he was still developing his feel. Fast forward to today, you can see that this is a young man that has gotten stronger, developed more as a player, and has put in the hard work to get where he is today; and I don’t believe he is done.

Looking at him recently, Otyaluk has started to fill out his frame and may have gotten a little taller, but what has to grab your attention is his ability to make plays and operate from multiple levels. He can be electric out in the open floor and transition, high-flying and finishing strong at the rim.  He also is able to make plays off the dribble, finish over defenders, and help on the boards.  But you can’t deny his confidence and smooth shot from behind the arc, stretching the defense out and using his 6’7 length to shoot right over defenders.

And as I said before, think there is still more room to grow in his development. This is why college coaches should be noticing now!

What Has Been Said:

“Otyaluk played really well and is a newer name to start looking out. A wiry prospect for sure and one that will need and should get stronger, his wingspan and frame really helped him in finish over defenders consistently, creating opportunities for himself and scoring from multiple levels on the floor. One to keep monitoring for sure.”

“Isaiah is interesting to me because of how much potential he has. He has arguably been the best defender in the entire east division so far and he’s only going to get better. On that side of the court, he has incredible instincts on and off the ball, along with his athleticism and great strong and weak side rim protection, Isaiah is the total defender. Offensively he is an elite finisher and has good shot mechanics that should project well to the next level. Isaiah’s recruitment should explode this year while playing a loaded schedule for NC Good, Better, Best.”

“It’s easy to see the appeal with a blossoming prospect like Otyaluk, who possesses a ton of ability and long-term upside. He’s a long, wiry wing/forward prospect with great size, athleticism, and an enticing level of skill (especially for his position). His insane length is an obvious asset, and he actually understands how to use it as a finisher, defender, and two-way rebounder. Otyaluk naturally causes matchup problems for various types of opponents. He’s only going to get better and better, but college coaches should already be quite intrigued by his overall identity.”
