Player: Henry Smith
Class: 2026
Height: 6’4
School: Marvin Ridge
Marvin Ridge is coming off a 17-11 season last year and they are looking to take the right steps forward once again this year under Coach McCarthy. When watching this team in action at the Phenom Fall League, we started to learn about a few options they will be having on the court. They look to be led by 2025 Brady Dunn who has had a tremendous summer and looks to do the same this high school season. But one player who grabbed my attention and could be a huge benefit to this team’s success was 2026 6’4 Henry Smith.
Throughout the past weekend, it was Smith who played bigger than listed. The 6’4 prospect did a great job in showing flashes of his production and what he could provide, not only willing to do the dirty work inside and battle against bigger opponents but effectively be a scoring option as well. Time after time, he was able to finish strong through defenders or create contact, as well as running the floor in transition and beating defenders, and battling hard on the boards. Smith was able to give those glimpses last year for his team but this could be a breakout-type season for the 6’4 prospect and Marvin Ridge will need him to bring that production consistently.
With his comfort level inside and out, his ability to run the floor, and his willingness to work hard and do the dirty work on either end, Smith has a chance to really carve out a name for himself this season.
