When you get names like Team CP3, Team Loaded, Upward Stars, PSB around in a gym, you know there will be talent on every court. We are very excited to start our grassroots season off with Phenom’s Stay Positive. Teams from around the region are competing in this weekend long event at Proehlific Park in Greensboro.

Here are some of the standouts from the day

6’4” 2021 Tucker Johnson of Upward Stars Charlotte 15u
Johnson has a big strong post type player. He has a definitive post presence with his long arms and broad shoulders. Johnson did a good job rebounding the ball and seemed to finish everything around the basket.

5’9” 2021 Clay Hodges of Carolina Riptide 15u
Hodges is a high IQ point guard, the straw that stirs the drink. He plays with a toughness that bleeds throughout the team as he gets everyone involved with drive and kicks and pitch ahead passes. While his scoring totals may not be high, he is the kid that wins games, keeping everyone together.

6’2” 2020 Destin Clark of Team Loaded Curry 16u
Clark looks more like a middle line backer than a basketball player. Then you watch him carve up a defense with his vision and handle and realize he is an absolute mis match on the basketball floor. Exceptional passer who is able to get downhill off his own pace. He plays hard and is vocal, love his demeanor.

6’5” 2020 Reggie Raynor of Team ENC 16s
Raynor is a lengthy and explosive wing who always seems to be around the ball. He is at his beset when heading downhill, but showcased range with touch in this one. With great size he is a player to firmly place on the radar and one scholarship schools should put eyes on.

6’6” 2020 Chazz Banks of Carolina Wolves NC 16s
Banks has a great frame, with good length and ball skills. The wing is very athletic and he is able to score, with consistency, on all 3 levels. Very intriguing prospect as he is a sophomore with his size, range, athleticism and ball skills. D1s should start to sniff around.

6’6” 2020 Jordan Hermand of SCBA 16s
Hermand is huge, very big prospect. He looks more like an offensive guard in the SEC than a basketball player. That is until the gets the ball on the low block. Hermand has great hands and good feet around the basket. He finishes well and seems to catch everything. Very productive player.
