The Trojans of Northwestern finished 11-16 last season, and they are looking to improve that overall record this coming season, making a bigger presence in the state of South Carolina. If they look to do that, they will need a few key seniors to step up and help lead the charge, as they were both key factors recently on the Phenom Hoops platform at the Team Camp. Both 2027 Joseph Owusu-Mensah and 2027 Kohl Peterson will be valuable for the Trojans, as we talk a little bit more about the below from what we saw.
2027 6’5 Joseph Owusu-Mensah
Owusu-Mensah is an underrated prospect down in South Carolina who I believe could be a prospect worthy for college coaches to take a look at. A 6’5 prospect that has a nice blend of size, versatility, and overall impact on the court. He finds ways to be effective with his ability to knock down shots from multiple levels, as well as attack and finish strong. He can be effective from various positions both offensively and defensively, and finds other ways to impact the game. Good overall piece on the court for his team.
2027 5’11 Kohl Peterson
Peterson shows the ability to be a strong creator and scoring option with the ball in his hands. The guard does a great job of getting downhill, creating off the bounce, and using craft and touch to finish in the paint. He also proved capable of knocking down shots from midrange and beyond off the dribble, making him a threat from multiple levels. On the defensive end, Peterson helped set the tone with his energy and instincts, forcing turnovers and making a consistent impact with his pressure on the ball.
