Team Loaded
6’10 ’20 Javarzia Belton- It would be difficult to discuss Team Loaded’s evening performance without mentioning Belton. This man-child fears no one and is basically playing bully ball against opponents. In this battle, he was pretty strong on the offensive end, finishing almost everything inside while maintaining his defensive prowess throughout.
Atlanta All-Stars
6’0 ’19 Matthew Gonzalez- The lead guard was one of the most intriguing players on this Atlanta All-Stars, given his ability to overcome a lack of size. He is extremely efficient on offense, never wasting a possession or second-chance opportunity. Gonzalez is also a pest on defense, as he forced numerous steals and shut his man down throughout this contest.
6’6 ’19 Jayvion Rucker- The long, athletic wing prospect was a problem for opponents on the defensive end, utilizing his length to disrupt action and force turnovers. Offensively, Rucker has quality three-point consistency, though his shot may look a little unorthodox. Watch for him to continue his breakout on championship Sunday.
Columbia Hoyas
6’6 ’19 Jeremiah Reeves- One of the top performers for this Hoyas squad was certainly Reeves, who added a nice stretch forward element to this team. He is able to create a shot for himself inside the arc or spot-up and knock down three-pointers off the catch, whatever is needed.
Upward Stars Columbia
6’3 ’19 Jalen Johnson- This Upward team played really well behind the big-time perimeter shooting from Johnson. He was effective throughout this contest from beyond the arc, but his defensive presence deserved some credit too.
Team ENC 252
6’7 ’19 Akram Ben Salah- The face-up big was vital throughout the day for this ENC squad, knocking down shots from all three levels and showcasing his high motor on both sides of the ball. Ben Salah is somewhat undersized for his position, but his ability to stretch the floor will make him a very interesting prospect at the next level.
Team Vision
6’3 ’20 Tyler McKinney- One could truly make the argument that McKinney is the most valuable player on this team, simply due to his consistent ability to affect every single facet of the game. He is one of the few guys that know how to play the right way, yet somehow he gets overlooked. Most all D2 programs should be investing some time in this young man.
6’0 ’19 Raishaun Brown- Despite Team Vision’s struggles today, Brown was able to still make a noticeable impact on the offensive end of the floor. He focused more on initiating the offense and setting up teammates through dribble-penetration, but also showcased his ability to score when needed. Brown is a really tough guard who brings intensity to every game.
Team Stacked
6’0 ’18 Christopher Garland- The unsigned senior was one of the most athletic players in the gym for his size, casually leaping up above the rim on a frequent basis. He plays with a high motor and knows how to consistently get stops on the defensive end. Garland could be a nice late addition for a program in need.
5’10 ’19 Elijah Haynes- There weren’t many players who affected this game more than Haynes, a prospect who continues to solidify his productivity. The combo-guard might be slight in frame, but his abilities on the hardwood are strong. He’s a quality passer and shooter, which keeps opposing defenses on their toes at all times.
Team Denver-NC
6’7 ’19 Nalik Veasley- The big man is starting to show signs of comfort on this team, getting more aggressive on the glass and defending the post with brute strength. Veasley is an active two-way player that doesn’t necessarily need a lot of offensive touches, though he is capable of scoring around the basket.
6’4 ’19 Jalen O’Neal- The always-productive O’Neal seems to affect the game even without scoring at times, which is what makes him so interesting. He makes strong decisions with the ball and simply knows how to play the game. O’Neal kills in transition and knows how to get to his spots on offense.
South Fulton Lions
6’3 ’19 Josh Dupree- One could make the argument that Dupree had the best performance of any guard on display. He has great length and a muscular build, but his impact was all over the floor. Offensively, he did everything and scored from wherever he wanted all game long. That being said, Dupree may be even more intriguing on defense, where he was a menace throughout this contest.
