There certainly has been some interesting news going around in North Carolina, as a few familiar faces will be suited up in different jerseys next season. 2026 6’5 Bradley Floyd and 2025 6’1 JD Bowden announced they would be on the move next season, bringing a few programs some elite talent for next season. We break down each and what they bring.
2026 6’5 Bradley Floyd
Kings Mountain to Winston Salem Christian
I’ve gone on record on how high I am on Floyd and his game. He simply did it all last year for Kings Mountain and brings such intrigue along with such potential. Now, he will be headed to a powerhouse in Winston-Salem Christian and with Coach Antonio Lowe pushing him even more along with going up against tough competition, Floyd could continue to take his game to the next level. Floyd’s length, versatility, vision, scoring impact, and rebounding ability are so intriguing, as he brings value no matter where he is on the court. And I believe that he will only continue to trend in the right direction with college programs at a high level.
What Was Said:
“He impacts the game in so many ways and he put that on display at the Team Camp. He is known for his scoring ability, using his length to get downhill and attack, finish at the rim consistently, and score over defenders. But he also stretches the court at times with his shot-making from multiple levels. But what doesn’t get always talked about is how versatile he can be with his big-time vision and facilitating, dropping on-point passes for his teammates for easy baskets, as well as his impact on the boards as well.”
2025 6’1 JD Bowden
United Faith to Ambassador Christian
Due to certain circumstances, one of the top point guards in the state is on the move. Starting at United Faith, Bowden announced that he would be heading to Ambassador Christian giving the program another strong weapon in its first season. Bowden can be an electric point guard that can score from a variety of levels. He is tremendous as a ball-handler and creator, surprises you with his athleticism, and understands how to make the right play for himself or others. Now, Ambassador Christian has a true floor leader in its first season and could see his recruitment hit another level.
What Was Said:
“Bowden is smart, poised, and confident. He knows how to dictate the action with pace and unselfishness. His blend of strength, quickness, and security as a ball-handler allows him to effortlessly break down opponents and touch the paint at a high volume. Bowden has proven himself as an efficient scorer from all levels but still prioritizes making the right play and getting others involved. Add in his athleticism, nose for the ball, and defensive prowess at the point of attack, and his leadership can be seen in various forms.”
