Greetings HS hoops junkies from across the suddenly springlike Piedmont! The Great One is here to release his latest rankings, state playoff style. The playoffs are in full swing, and upsets have been the name of the game this year. This week’s F5 has been affected by this trend. Of the 15 ranked teams, 6 are still dancing. We’re now into the regional rounds and there are games involving F5 teams going head-to-head. We have #1 Mooresville hosting new #5 Marvin Ridge and #3 North Meck hosting #4 Hickory Ridge. Of the non-Furious 5 teams, West Charlotte is the only left standing and is currently at the top of the DSO list. We will now see what changes have occurred in the battle for F5 supremacy……TO THE 5!!!!
1. MOORESVILLE 25-2 – THE BLUE DEVILS BLEW INTO THE 7A REGIONALS BY VIRTUE OF A BLOWOUT WIN OVER INDEPENDENCE, ENTERTAINS #5 MARVIN RIDGE MONDAY.
2. CATHOLIC 24-4 – THE POPE’S TEAM CRUISED INTO THE 6A REGIONALS, TABOR COMES CALLING MONDAY.
3. NORTH MECK 24-4 – THE VIKINGS ARE IN YET ANOTHER REGIONAL, FACE #4 HICKORY RIDGE MONDAY.
4. HICKORY RIDGE 24-5 – THE BULLS BLEW PAST UPSTART DAVIE, FACES #3 NORTH MECK IN REGIONALS.
5. MARVIN RIDGE 22-5 – THE MAVERICKS OUTLASTED WEST MECK, TRAVEL TO #1 MOORESVILLE MONDAY
