Greetings HS hoops junkies from across the March Madness awaiting Piedmont! The Great One is here to release his final F5 rankings of the 2024-25 campaign. For the first time, there is a repeat champion as #1 North Meck outlasted #2 Chambers in the Furious 5 title game aka the 4A West Regional Finals. The Vikings then went on to capture back-to-back state titles in 4A for the 1st time since RJ Reynolds three-peated from 2001-03. Details will be in The Sadster’s state finals recap article. It was a memorable season with a #1 team dropping out of states, another going back-to-back, and yet another ending up in the final rankings after losing 7 of their first 8 games. We will now say so long to the 24-25 campaign with our final rankings…… TO THE 5!!!!
1. NORTH MECK – THE VIKINGS BECOME THE 1ST REPEAT CHAMPION IN FURIOUS 5 HISTORY BY DOWNING CHAMBERS, TOOK A 2ND STATE TITLE IN A ROW BY DOWNING NEW HANOVER……AGAIN.
2. CHAMBERS – RALLIED BACK INTO THE 5 BUT FELL SHORT OF THE TITLE AGAINST NEMESIS NORTH MECK.
3. INDEPENDENCE – SEASON COMPLETE
4. WEDDINGTON – SEASON COMPLETE
5. MYERS PARK – SEASON COMPLETE
We Didn’t Sleep On: Catholic, Hopewell, Mooresville, Lake Norman
There you have it folks! The Sadster will bring back the Furious 5 next December but now it’s time for travel ball this summer. Come see The Great One himself at Phenom Hoops Events in Rock Hill and Bermuda Run! Stay tuned!!!
