Greetings HS hoops junkies from across the Veteran appreciating piedmont! It is time for the Great One to recap day 2 of the David Rose tournament this weekend in Greensboro. He saw many good players and many good teams, and also saw an incredible upset in the 15U White Bracket as the Palmetto Hurricanes shocked the world and took out the super talented Garner Road squad. We will now look at the games that the Sadster observed yesterday ….

In the 14U Silver Bracket title game, PSB Elite survived Team Loaded 66-57. Giovanni Nannucci led the charge with 21 points, most were in a 2nd half run that gave his team a working margin. Jason Hancock and DJ Wickman added 11 each. Smooth PG Ryan Stephens added 9 points and a host of assists and steals for the winners. SE Guiford fans are going to love this guy. Darius Abraham chalked up 24 points and Spencer Mermans added 9 points and 9 boards for Loaded….

The 14U Bronze Bracket title game was won by Flight 22 as they topped LKN1, 43-29. Kavaughn Spence led the winners’ effort with 14 points and Alex Gruber paced LKN1 with 8 in a low scoring affair….

Finally, in the 15U White Bracket, the Palmetto City Hurricanes outlasted Garner Road, 50-46. Antonio Lorick willed his team to the win with several key buckets and boards down the stretch, posting a 12 point, 10 rebound effort. Garner Road was lead by Omar Harris’ 15 points and had balanced scoring but lacked floor leadership in the clutch. You can bet that The Road will bounce back after this first loss of the summer for them….

There you have it folks! The Amazing One will make another appearance at the J-MAC tourney next week in Fort Mill, SC and give his 2 cents worth again. Stay tuned!!!!
