Greetings HS hoops junkies from across the HS hoops watching Piedmont! The Sadster is here to recap the 2nd round and give you his Sectional Winners. The Once Great One stumbled to a 90-30 (75%) record in the 2nd round which was a bloodbath of upsets across the state. His overall record drops to 188-52, or 78%. He did manage to sweep the board in the 5A West for the second straight round, however, what really hurt his overall mark were the 8A and 7A categories where he put up a combined dismal 12-12 mark. That is completely unacceptable by The Sadster’s standards so the Ol’ Cubic Zirconia ball (can’t afford crystal) spent the day in the shop yesterday and is now repaired and ready to give out your sectional winners. As we discussed on Thursday, the 7-10 and 5-12 matchups gave the most trouble producing shockers. In tournament play with upsets comes Cinderella teams and blowouts come Wrecking Machines. We will now officially label our current Cinderella and Wrecking Machine squads. Firstly, our current Cinderella teams are SOUTH MECK, DAVIE, WEST MECK, KINGS MTN, CENTRAL CABARRUS, CREST, MT. PLEASANT, HIBRITEN and WS PREP in the West. In the East, we have GREEN LEVEL, GARNER, HERITAGE, NE GUILFORD, WAKE PREP, MANTEO and ROCKY MT. PREP. We will now name our current Wrecking Machine teams. In the West, we have NORTH MECK, INDEPENDENCE, ROBINSON, E. HENDERSON, SALISBURY, HENDERSONVILLE, WALKERTOWN, QUEENS GRANT, BISHOP MCGUINESS, N. ROWAN and JACKSON. The Eastern Wrecking Machines are SO. DURHAM, LUMBERTON, ROSE, HP CENTRAL, REIDSVILLE, WASHINGTON, FARMVILLE, WARREN, FRANKLIN AC, TARBORO, VANCE CHARTER, and N. EDGECOMB. The questions that will be answered today are, which teams will the slipper still fit, and which teams will keep rolling right along. The Sad One will earn his rightful title back with a banner night so without further adieu, we will now get……TO THE PICKS!!!
