Robert Dillingham 'Poised beyond his years''

Robert Dillingham is only 14 years old and is playing as a freshman for Coach Jeff McInnis of Combine Academy. He came into the event with an outstanding reputation as being one of the more, if not, most talented freshman in the state. As the old saying goes, 'The proof is in the pudding,' and what the young and uber talented point guard did this past weekend at the Carmel Christian Tip Off Classic was short of amazing.

In Combine's upset win over nationally ranked Oak Hill, Dillingham came off the bench and made the most of his minutes. Playing on the big stage with a jam packed and frenzied crowd, Dillingham played with poise and maturity not often seen by someone this young. For the game, Dillingham scored 15 points going 4-7 from the floor, 3-5 from the 3-point line, and 4-6 from the free throw line. In addition, he had one assist, two steals and only committed two turnovers; all in just 12 minutes of play and making the most of the minutes. In the game on Saturday against The Burlington School, Dillingham once again showcased his long-range potential. He finished with nine points going 4-8 from the floor, had two rebounds, two assists, two steals and only one turnover in only 11 minutes of play.'

The baby face Dillingham is a highly skilled lead guard that stepped up on the biggest stage of his career and proved to everyone watching he is next in line as one of the most talented young players to come through the North Carolina pipeline. While it is still quite early to be talking about the top player in the North Carolina 2023 class, Robert Dillingham's name will be at the top of the list. You see, he proved it on the court on the big stage and his performance allowed Combine Academy to make history with their 76-74 overtime win over Oak Hill Academy.
