North Carolina’s senior class features several proven prospects who have already produced at a high level but still do not receive the recognition they deserve. After enjoying impressive junior campaigns, these players are preparing to build on that success, take on even larger roles, and deliver another big season. College coaches should keep a close eye on these seniors as they look to finish their high school careers in commanding fashion.
2027 Kannon McBride (Croatan)
McBride had a strong high school season and carried that into the summer this year, impressing and catching some eyes. McBride averaged 25.5 points per game last year, and one can expect him to do much of the same this coming season again. McBride has a smooth feel and has proven his ability to be a knockdown shooter, as well as a polished overall scorer. He is effective from a variety of levels, displays IQ, and plays with a strong overall motor. He can play on and off the ball, as well as be effective in other areas of the court.
2027 MJ Gladden (Statesville)
When you talk about Statesville, there is a clear leader once again leading the charge. Averaging nearly 25 points per game, Gladden will need too much of the same to help his team to wins, and he has shown he can do just that. His athleticism hasn’t dropped off at all, using his 6’5 length and bounce to his advantage to score over, around, or through defenders at the rim. But showing more of his jumper and range overall as a prospect makes him even more dangerous as a multi-level scorer.
2027 Zarion Hobbs (White Oak)
Hobbs had a strong junior season in which he averaged 23 points per game and we wouldn’t be surprised to find his name near the top of the top-scoring senior guards in the state of NC. Hobbs is a smart, poised floor general who uses his quickness and craftiness to create for himself and others. He finishes well for his size, knocks down perimeter shots, and applies consistent pressure as a tough on-ball defender.
2027 Tyler Gee (Eastern Randolph)
Gee is a slender but crafty guard who plays with a motor, quickness, and is relentless in his attack. Averaging 22.6 points last year, he carried that confidence into the summer. Gee is a wiry, skilled guard who combines toughness with versatile scoring ability. He can initiate the offense or thrive off the ball, keeping defenses guessing with his shooting, pull-ups, and downhill drives while also defending physically and consistently making hustle plays.
2027 Seth Harris (Western Guilford)
Harris helped carry the load for Western Guilford last year, averaging 22.8 points per game but also being a well-round prospect on the court. Harris is a versatile creator who consistently generates offense for himself and others. He scores from all levels, attacks the paint, makes smart decisions, defends with length, and rebounds well on both ends. Scholarship-level coaches should be involved. Expect him to have another big season and for coaches to take notice.
