Though there have been plenty of changes around the state of North Carolina when it comes to prospects, the talent is still running deep all over the state. And with the high school LIVE periods coming through June, we are highlighting a few players that I believe should be strong targets for so many schools and should be holding double-digit offers from schools all around. 2028 6’8 Julian Tweedy
Tweedy is such an interesting prospect, and I believe this is a young man who easily should be holding double-digit offers sooner rather than later. At 6’8, Tweedy brings a tremendous skillset as well as upside with his game, something that college coaches have to be excited about. Tweedy has the size that allows him to impact the game inside, displaying touch and feel, fluidity, and the ability to stretch the floor. He impacts the game well defensively, altering shots and being a rim protector as well. Overall, Tweedy is one who has a lot of intangibles in his game, but still has a chance to develop and add more overall, especially on the offensive end. And to think further down the road, I think that development could take off even more at the collegiate level.
2028 6’7 Thomas Bowes
Bowes is a newer name for some, but watching him time after time this summer, I believe Bowes should be a target for many programs around the region. There is a lot to like about his game with his 6’7 frame, ability to handle and lead the offense, create off the bounce, play off the ball, and look for his shot, and versatility on the floor. And again, one can say that he is just starting his journey in being a collegiate player, as he has a chance to blossom even more this upcoming season. Bowes has a strong feel and IQ for the game and makes quality decisions. He can be a playmaker for himself as well as for others, while also playing multiple positions. Bowes looks to be a sneaky prospect that I think college programs are going to wake up more about.
2027 6’6 Dillon Mason
College coaches should be all over Mason, as he has taken a huge jump in his development as a player from when we first saw him. Some schools are starting to jump on board, but Mason should have a lot more college coaches headed his way with what he is able to provide. As a 6’6 strong and physical prospect, Mason excels from inside and out, being a threat with his ability to knock down shots from the perimeter with range but also use his frame to attack off the bounce, get to the rim, and finish strong. You add that to his ability to impact in other areas, guard multiple positions, and clear upside left in his game, Mason should be a hot target for many quickly.
2027 6’2 Travien Williams
Williams is who he is… a 6’2 point guard that does an excellent job in attacking off the bounce, getting paint touches, finishing through defenders, and being a true playmaker on the court. No matter the event or opponent, Williams brings tremendous consistency in his ability to be a strong creator off the bounce. He has tremendous speed, embraces contact and battles through defenders, makes quality decisions as a scorer or facilitator, and can get to his spots whenever he wants. And you add on his development overall as a guard from outside, Williams offers a lot and is one of the most consistent guards in the state of North Carolina. He easily should have the attention of college programs all around the region.
