South Carolina continues to bring a ton of intriguing talent, and we have had a chance to watch some of the young names from the state over recent weeks. The Class of 2027 in South Carolina was pretty evident early on with Josh Leonard leading the charge, but now we are looking at who could be finding their name on top of the list for the Class of 2028.  It is still incredibly early, but two players have stood out among others who could earn that stop early on.

2028 Antoine Caughman

Caughman is a highly intriguing prospect as a young prospect. You can see a lot of early factors that will have his name at the top of the list with his size, college frame, and his overall impact on the court. Caughman has a great frame at his position already, but his overall feel is quite impressive as well. He can be an effective scorer from all levels, showing comfort in playing on and off the ball, can knock down shots with range from the perimeter, can get to his spots off the bounce well, and uses his athleticism to score at the rim. Caughman excels in a variety of areas, and what also stands out is his impact on the defensive end as well.

2028 RJ Davis

Davis is another player that I believe will see his name near the top and as a contender at the No. 1 spot early on. Early on, there were those flashes that you saw in his game that grabbed your attention but over the last few months, I’ve seen him starting to put it all together. The 6’5 wiry prospect has incredible bounce and athleticism, something he uses well to his advantage. Davis gets out in transition and finishes well at the rim, attacking downhill consistently but also being able to knock down shots from outside as well. He does a great job in staying in attack mode but flourishes in several other areas on the court, and gives you flashes of his defensive impact with his athleticism and size as well. I believe he is one who could get stronger and even better in the coming years.
