2027 MJ Gladden (Greyhounds)
Gladden had an incredible Week 2 in leading the Greyhounds of Statesville. As we have said before, he and Cauthen could be in for a big season and Gladden showed just why he is a player to watch out for. The 6’4 prospect was throwing down dunk after dunk, displaying his explosiveness and athleticism at the rim, but also was incredible in knocking down shots. He created space, showed range, and was strong out in transition while also making an impact on the defensive side. Gladden had an eye-opening Sunday and I expect him to continue that trend this upcoming high school season.
2026 Carter Abernethy (NL Knights)
Back in North Carolina now, Abernathy was another player who really impressed with his strong overall play for the NL Knights. He is a strong, sturdy prospect who was able to flourish in so many areas on the court. Abernathy has good size and frame, allowing him to attack downhill, finish through contact, and create for himself. But he proved that he can score from all levels, creating space, attacking the rim, or knocking down shots off the catch with range. He really flourished on the court, and he should be one college coaches to check out a lot more.
2026 Ian Bailey (Team Vision)
It was good to see the UNC-Asheville commit back in action with Phenom Hoops, and he continues to put his entire game on display, something we have seen countless times before. Bailey was tremendous in making the right reads, attacking and penetrating, scoring through contact, and displaying bounce as a scorer. He also continues to work on his outside shot, displaying a fluid release and strong range overall. Bailey is a true leader on the court, who excels in leading his team, complemented by a strong IQ.
2027 Nixon Wright (Eagles)
Wright is a name to really watch for with East Meck this season, as he has proven to take big strides with his overall game and should be a huge piece for his team this year. He has good overall size, is a strong finisher at the rim, excels in transition, and shows good pace and ability to create for himself, as well as knock down shots in rhythm. Wright understands how to utilize his advantages well in his game and can make an impact on both sides of the ball.
