We continue our coverage of the Phenom Middle School Elite Camp, now looking at the younger prospects in the Class of 2031 and 2032. There was plenty of talent that grabbed our attention at the camp, as these players will certainly be ones to jot down and track in the coming years. Let’s dive into a few players that really impressed at a young age.
2031 Maximus Cardwell
Cardwell may have been the most impressive guard at the camp, and it came easily for him to be able to show how strong of a scoring presence he brings to the floor. Averaging nearly 28 points per game at the camp, Cardwell displayed an excellent understanding of the game, tough-minded, creative, and a true threat from all over the floor. Cadwell excels off the bounce, getting paint touches, being physical, and scoring from a variety of levels, as he will be a name to jot down and watch more in the coming years.
2031 Mason Dockery
I was highly impressed with the improvement that Dockery has shown, and his confidence is at an all-time high at a young age. He had that mentality of “give me the ball and let me make a play,” and that is what he did. He scored with ease from the perimeter and with range, shifty creator off the bounce, and scoring from all over the floor. Impressive growth early on in this young man, and believe this is just the start.
2031 Tison McAdoo
McAdoo is a strong, athletic prospect who consistently put pressure on defenses with his ability to get wherever he wants off the bounce. He knocked down shots efficiently, living in the paint, and making productive plays nearly every time he touched the ball. Add in his activity on the defensive end, and McAdoo shows the type of two-way impact and physical tools that make him a highly intriguing prospect moving forward.
2031 Jayceon Meadows
Meadows is an intriguing young prospect who immediately stands out with his frame and developing skill set. He shows strength and physicality when attacking the basket, using his size effectively to finish and create advantages. With his early tools and upside, Meadows is a name worth tracking as he continues to grow and refine his overall game.
2032 John Willhoft
Willhoft is an early prospect to keep firmly on the radar, already showing appealing size at 6’0 with the ability to run the floor and impact play around the basket. Despite his youth, he flashes a natural presence inside and the tools to continue developing into a versatile contributor. With plenty of time for growth and refinement, Willhoft is a young talent whose long-term upside makes him one to watch in the coming years.
2032 Xaviar James
Though he was one of the youngest prospects at the camp, you can clearly watch James has that “it” factor in his game with fluidity, understanding, and overall feel for the game; it looks smooth early on. James combines strong IQ, athleticism, and positional size to impact the game in multiple ways—rebounding, forcing turnovers, and consistently making the right play. With his productivity and feel for the game at such an early stage, James carries significant long-term upside
2032 Kanye Blue
Blue showcased himself as a steady, productive presence on the court, operating as a smart guard who understands how to create and generate offense. He displayed confidence in his scoring ability while making sound decisions with the ball, highlighting a strong early feel for the game. With his poise and offensive instincts, Blue is a young prospect who showed promising signs of continued development moving forward.
