The talent at the guard position was on full display at Phenom May Madness, as several point guards stepped up and made their presence felt throughout the weekend. Whether it was their ability to score, create for others, control the tempo, or lead their teams, these floor generals consistently caught the eyes of our scouts. From dynamic playmakers to poised leaders running the show, here’s a look at some of the top point guards that had everyone talking.

2029 Damari Smith (CP3)

Smith continues to shine as a premier prospect and should be getting looked at more on a national level, as he has all the tools you like in a high-major point guard with his speed, physicality, ability to attack in transition, his change of speed, and scoring from multiple levels.

2028 Malachi Wilson (Warriors Elite)

Wilson is a polished point guard with a strong feel for the game. He sees the floor well, plays with patience, and makes smart decisions. Capable of creating his own shot while also setting up others, he brings a balanced and steady presence at the position.

2027 Jaishawn Woods (NLPB)

Woods is a quick, shifty guard with strong creation ability. He consistently gets by defenders off the bounce and puts pressure on defenses as a scoring threat but he also creates well for others. With his ability to create and produce, he has a chance to make a big impact this summer.

2027 JJ Short (NC Spartans)

Short brings constant energy and competitiveness to the floor. A tough, scrappy point guard, he is always active, creating for himself and others while looking to make plays. His motor and playmaking ability make him a strong presence at the position.

2027 Travien Williams (1of1 Elite)

Williams has been really good this summer, showing he can score effectively and get into the paint at will. That has been evident each time we see him but he also displays good vision, finding teammates and making plays. An impressive prospect to start the summer and I expect D1 schools to get involved quickly.

2026 Tucker Robinette (Most Hated NC)

Robinette is a shifty guard who creates well and consistently gets by defenders. He’s a multi-level scorer with the ability to pull up from anywhere and did a strong job attacking off the bounce.

2029 Kai Lucas (1of1 Elite)

Lucas was a name that earned our attention and is a newer prospect to keep an eye on. He clearly showed his ability to be not only a scoring threat and a creator, but one that can help run the show. Lucas presented strong instincts along with upside with his game, as he is a guard to keep an eye on.

2027 Preston Moore (Grassroots NC)

Moore stands out as a steady leader at the point, using his quickness and tight handle to apply constant pressure. He creates well for himself and others while proving to be a quality shooter who can score from all levels.

2029 Duke Thompson (River City Reign)

Thompson is a smooth, crafty lead guard with a creative handle that creates separation. A confident midrange shot-maker with an advanced feel, he’s a fun prospect who continues to trend upward.

2026 Stew Edwards (Save Sports)

Edwards has been strong to start the season, using his quickness and shiftiness to consistently beat defenders. He attacks the paint well, finishes effectively at his size, and finds ways to be a reliable scoring option each time out.

2029 Brison Gullatte (Heat Elite)

Gullatte is a smooth creator with the ability to not only score but also create well for others. He has good early size, gets where he wants off the bounce, makes smart decisions on the floor, and applies pressure out in the open floor. A strong overall presence on the court and one to watch.
