In the western part of North Carolina and in one of the best facilities in the state at Cherokee high school, Phenom Hoops got a chance to see some of the best talents around the area.
Players came out to develop, be coached, and showcase their talent at a high level and it didn’t disappoint, as it was one of the top camps we have had this year. With our national scouts on the baseline, here are a few players that really caught the eyes of our scouts.

2021 6’1 Kavan Horton
He was quiet to start the game but man, did he pick it up later on. He had defenders rocking back and forth on defense, using his mid-range game to score his points. The shiftiness that he had along with his confidence on the court grabbed the attention of many. Loved his hustle on the floor and made some INCREDIBLE passes.
2021 6’2 Max Rogers
Every time you saw him with a small opening, especially from three, one would think that it was going in. He didn’t miss many open shots and made his opponents pay. He was one of the better pure shooters at the camp.
2020 6’1 Avery Rivera
Rivera goes quietly about his business but is effective in so many ways. He was productive when he was on the floor, being a floor general at times but also finishing when he had too. Overall, he made positive plays all over the court and had himself a day making an impression on our scouts..
2021 6’6 Earl Burgess
Just looking at him, you have to find the intrigue but then you see the versatility he brings along with his ability to be very disruptive on the defensive end. Burgess has great hands, nice touch, and seems to just have a knack for the ball.
2020 6’2 Ray Faison
Faison is a do-it-all type glue guy on both sides of the ball. He showcased some nice springs and attacked the rim, while also displaying a high IQ and instincts on the floor. Loved the energy he brought every game and rebounded the ball really well at the guard position.
