Athleticism, versatility, and skill set has always been just a few words to describe the state of South Carolina. That is why we were so excited to continue a weekend full of talent, this time looking at players at the high school level.

Coming back to Lexington high school, Phenom Hoops got a first look at quite a few new names around the state and they didn't disappoint.

2024 6'4 Cameron Scott

Only an 8th grader, Scott is one to watch down the road as we could be looking at a high-major prospect when it is all said and done. He has incredible length, bounce, and plays with a high IQ for such a young player. He also uses his wingspan to rise up over defenders, rebound, and knockdown jumpers from all three levels.

2022 5'10 Cedric Shelby

There is nothing like an energy guy and Cedric was just that from the start. He was that in your face, looking to prove doubters and make opponents work. He had a constant motor and seemed to be everywhere, making plays on both ends, while getting to the rim and finishing strong.

2021 6'2 Dustin Gillum

Gillum is a fierce competitor and excelled in pushing the tempo, attacking the rim, and finishing strong. But he also was someone that played unselfishly, loved pushing the break, and when left open, can hit the outside jumper.

2021 6'0 Drayton Watson

A physical strong guard, Watson played with a high IQ, under control, and finished through contact. He understood what the defense gave him and attacked, making smart unselfish plays as well.

2022 6'4 Griffin Folse

Even at 6'4, Folse presents as a versatile post prospect. He loved stepping out to the free-throw line, working a two-man game or putting the ball on the floor and finishing around the rim. He showcased a soft touch around the basket and as he continues to develop and get strong, could be one to keep an eye on. Also enjoyed that he always kept the ball high on both sides.

2020 6'0 Elijah Thaggard

Elijah was incredibly quick in the open floor, whether he was pushing the break or playing off the ball. He used that speed get to the rim and finish but also keep his defenders guessing. When they were, he hit them for a smooth three, knocking down quite a few to start the day.
