2024 Carlos Vazquez (Wayne Country Day): Every time I watch this young man’s game, I can just see a program finding ways to get him on the floor and for him to make plays in so many ways. At 6’5, he shows a little bit of everything, with his ability to impact the paint and attack the glass, create off the dribble for himself and score, operate and play multiple positions, etc. Really just believe that he is one you want to have on the floor and production will come.
2023 Adam Harvey (Chatham Charter): Harvey continues to play well this summer with his high school team and from what we have seen over the last few weeks, he could be in for an even bigger year than last season. He does a terrific job in putting it on the deck and creating, getting inside the defense, and finding ways to get the ball on the rim. He had a great day to start, going for 31, and had another strong showing in Game 2.
2024 Jayden Harris (Salisbury): Talk about a stock riser not only in North Carolina but more on the national level, as he has seen his recruitment take off. No surprise, as he has probably grown three more inches in the last year, continues to show his elite shot-making from deep, and now adding more to his game in creating for himself and finishing. Truly impressive start, as he went for a casual 30-ball to start his team camp.
2024 Pierce Pettit (South Granville): Pettit was one that caught on fire in the second half, as he could not miss from the floor. Finishing with 29 points early on, he shot the ball incredibly well, hitting six 3-pointers and showing how big of a threat he can be from the perimeter. Impressive shooting display.
2024 Peter Moye (South Meck): With the departures that South Meck has had, Moye (and a few others) have a real chance to make a big mark on the program and are now looking to be the leaders of this team. He showed that has he continues to put up strong offensive numbers, adding different levels to his game, scoring in a variety of ways, getting stronger, and getting more confident in his overall game. Had a strong showing early on at the camp.
2023 Caden Fitzgibbons (WS Christian): Fitzgibbons has had a strong summer so far and he continued that with his team WS Christian. What you have to like about his game is his blend of athleticism, ability to create and score around the basket, explosiveness in transition, and his ability to knock down shots. Had a strong showing and is proving to be a leader early on for this team.
2023 Xavier Crawford (Lincoln Charter): Crawford was consistent all throughout Day 1, but also mixed it up offensively in each game. He displayed good bounce in his game, penetrating and getting into the paint at times, but then also mixing it up and showing his range. A newer name to the scene but led his team in all three games and really showed how strong he can be offensively.
