The future of the game was on full display at Phenom Hoops’ Championship at the Capital, as some of the top young talent from around the region took the court and showcased their potential. Across every age division, players stepped up with impressive performances, demonstrating skill, competitiveness, and a high basketball IQ that should have fans and coaches excited about what’s ahead. Here are POB’s Eye Catchers—a look at the young prospects who made the strongest impressions and earned recognition with their play throughout the weekend.
2030 Landon Moore (Carolina Elite)
A rising big in the Class of 2030 that has a lot of potential. Moves well, impacts the game on both sides of the ball, and showcases a lot of potential as he continues to develop and grow.
2030 Sonny Watkins (SS Seed)
A rising star here in North Carolina, he can be a matchup nightmare with his length, skillset, and ability to score inside. Continues to improve on his perimeter game.
2030 Fielding Bowles (PSG)
A new name as a big, Bowles showed tremendous flashes of skill in operating in the post, stretching the court at times, fluidity, and impact on both sides of the court.
2030 Destin Morris (Top Shot)
A think-framed forward that plays well within the offense, impacts the game on the glass, and shows offensive touch in the paint. A strong prospect that finds ways to impact the game in a variety of ways.
2030 Jeremiah Moore (Garner Road)
Another big center that you simply can’t miss, Moore controls the paint, brings legit size offensively inside, and can be a rim protector defensively.
2030 Elijah Foster (PSG)
Foster was an assertive and aggressive guard who attacked well out in transition, attacked the paint, and looked to create. Strong finisher and productive throughout the event.
2030 Trey Owens (Team Trezz)
Owens brings legit size that you notice, but it was his overall impact and versatility. Operates from multiple levels, assertive on the glass, and finds ways to produce for his team.
2031 Jamil Mansour (Dubai Tribe)
The Dubai Tribe certainly made a mark, and it was the play of Mansour that put on an offensive show each time we watched him. An excellent scorer who filled it up from all levels, having a big weekend overall.
2030 Tripp Griffin (Carolina Elite)
Griffin is a strong overall guard who continues to produce and lead. He attacks well downhill, finishes through contact, and continues to expand more of his game.
2030 Trey Lattimore (Upward Stars Upstate)
Lattimore is an intriguing prospect with his length at 6’5. He operates and runs the floor well, finishes around the basket well, and finds ways to impact the game on the defensive end.
2030 Tion Boyd (Legacy Hoops Academy)
When watching Legacy, Boyd really impressed with his constant pressure on the defense. He attacked off the bounce, used his length well, and was able to fill it up as an offensive creator.
2030 Major Howell (SS Elite)
Howell was a strong blend of size and skill set, showing the ability to be a presence down low but also skilled enough to attack off the bounce. Brought tremendous size and physicality.
2030 Noah Dawkins (Upward Stars Upstate)
Tough, scrappy guard that can create his own space and shot. Excellent in weaving through the defense and finishing but also knocking down shots over defenders.
