The Phenom Ambassador Classic delivered no shortage of talent and competitive energy, and several players made sure to leave a lasting impression. Our own scout, Patrick O’Brien, was locked in throughout the action this past Saturday, evaluating matchups, intangibles, and impact on both ends of the floor. From prospects stepping up in big moments to others showcasing advanced skill sets and confidence, a handful of standouts truly separated themselves. Below, Patrick breaks down the players who caught his eye and set the tone at the Phenom Ambassador Classic with their performances.

2028 Roman Solheim (NW Guilford)
Solheim continues to be an interesting prospect and continues to clearly be the leader for this team. He brings tremendous production to the table with his game, constantly being active and impactful on either side of the court. Solheim did much of his damage inside, showing touch and the ability to finish well around the basket. But he also does a nice job of being active on the glass, creating extra opportunities, and also making plays on the defensive end. He will be one to watch with his potential, especially as he continues to work on his game in stretching the floor.

2028 Chacho Womack (West Charlotte)
Womack continues to shine and progress as a prospect, as I would be keeping a strong eye on him this season and this summer; he could be in for as a breakout player in the Class of 2028. Womack has gotten bigger and stronger as a player, but he is such an effective weapon with his shot-making ability and overall game. He has a smooth feel and a ton of confidence in his ability to score, picking his spots, and scoring from multiple levels; at times, you are more surprised when he misses than when he makes. But you can see that he is still developing overall in his game, and there is a lot to like about his potential as a prospect, as he showed that once again at this event.

2027 RJ Moore (Ambassador Christian)
Moore was the top-ranked prospect at the event and he showed that easily with his impressive 28-point performance. It took a minute or two to get things going but once he did, he was excellent as a three-level scorer, making it look effortless at times. With his length and shot-making, Moore can be such a weapon in his ability to score over defenders, whether it is deep with range, mid-range, or creating to get to the basket. He was operating from all levels with ease at times and was impressive with his play throughout.

2028 Zavion Funderburk (East Meck)
Funderburk has been having a strong season and is opening a few more eyes with his game. East Meck has veterans helping lead the charge, but Funderburk is one who has proven to make this team a lot more dangerous. He does a great job in hunting for his shot, proving to be a big perimeter threat from behind the arc; if there is room, he is looking to take his shot from deep. Funderburk moves well without the ball, can create off the bounce well, and truly shows he can fill it up as a young guard here in Charlotte.
