This July brought us a ton of new names to really keep an eye on. One team with several young prospects to know, Boo Williams Carolina 2020, really stood out this summer.
Not only did they possess one of the top upcoming prospects in 2021 Jalen McDonald and at one point, 2021 Sean Sims, but it also brought forth an intriguing 6’3 prospect in Brandon Williams.
He at times went underrated but the more Phenom Hoops watched him, the more there was to like on what he provided on the court with some serious star power.
Williams, who currently attends Rolesville high school, not only brings great size but versatility to the floor. He played multiple positions this summer both on offense and defense, showcasing his ability to score inside and out, rebounds in the paint, run and lead the break, as well as much more.
Back at the Summer Havoc Live, Phenom Hoops analyst Jason Porter had this to say about the young man.
“Brandon has really impressed of late as he has appeared to have taken another step in his development. His motor seems to have found another gear and has added more scoring to his game. He has always been an active rebounder and defender but this part of his game has amped up as well. Williams is a nice young athlete who appears to be coming into his own as a player. Looking forward to where his development leads him.”
It is unsure how he will develop and his size as he continues to grow and develop. But he plays with such a unique game, he could be one that flies under the radar in North Carolina.
“I play small forward and power forward and a little bit of guard,” he told Phenom Hoops. “My coach lets me bring the ball up the court after a rebound because I can handle the rock and find the open shooters on the wing. I’m a pass first player and I love to get my teammates involved.”
Rolesville already has one of the top scorers in the state of North Carolina in 2018 Ricky Clemons, but Brandon Williams has a lot of intrigue to his game and should be a name to watch this coming year.
