HS Coach Evaluation: Jamil can really stretch the defense with his 3pt range but also does a great job getting where he wants to with the dribble and finding the open man. Jamil will play more point guard this season which is his natural position and be relied upon to run the show. Hes a very good on ball defender and can anticipate very well. One of the most coachable kids I have been around, can definitely play at next level!

Coach Frank says: Jamil is a skilled guard with a tight handle, excellent vision and passing skills to compliment his high scoring capability. He has great quickness and gets by most defenders with ease causing havoc for defenses who have to defend his penetration yet respect his ability to find cutters even in traffic. Jamil is a scrappy and tough guard, reliable with the ball in his hands and always looking to attack. He sees the whole floor and has sound passing and decision making skills. Jamil is also a threat to knock down the three pointer with very good consistency. He played on the wing last season and is easily making the transition to the point guard position. His double figure scoring output was the result of being called on as a scorer last season when he averaged 14 points per game including a career high 32 point effort against Norview. Jamil is a tenacious defender both on ball and off, brings great energy and a high IQ. We will no doubt see a big increase in his 3.5 assists per contest figure as he moves to his new role as the lead guard given his passing skills and willingness to distribute the ball. College coaches should keep an eye on Jamil who has grown to a more complete player and will likely establish himself among the top guards in the 2018 class in the 757.
