6’5 ’28 Garang Garang (Winston-Salem Christian)
Although there were several intriguing prospects on this Winston-Salem Christian roster, Garang was arguably as impressive as anyone. He’s a highly impactful all-around player whose blend of skill, motor, and athleticism makes him a consistent problem for opponents on both ends of the floor. Garang showcased the ability to do everything offensively, initiating the offense, making smart passes, and mixing it up as an efficient scorer from all levels. He secured rebounds at a strong rate and finished or pushed the break in transition. Garang wreaks havoc defensively and is guards multiple positions with relative ease. His transition from a glue-guy to a do-it-all guy has been seamless. Garang is definitely a guy for coaches to pursue.
6’0 ’27 Sherman Winston (Northeast Guilford)
There’s so much to like about this Northeast Guilford roster, which certainly includes Winston and his veteran steady two-way leadership presence. He’s a smart, unselfish guard who confidently runs the team, creates for others, scores from various levels, and sets the tone with his tough defensive presence. Winston knows how to impact all facets of the game, yet understands how to produce within the flow of the action. He applies downhill pressure and finishes or sets up others at a strong rate. Winston plays hard and does the dirty work whenever possible. He should appeal to college coaches.
6’4 ’27 Blake Smith (Salisbury)
Given all the ways he’s able to impact a game, there’s so much to like about what Smith brings to a team. He’s made a seamless transition from well-rounded utility piece to being an all-around leader for this group. Smith does legitimately everything. He defends multiple positions, rebounds at a high volume, and is comfortable operating from several spots offensively. Smith initiates the offense, gets downhill with ease, and makes quality decisions with the ball in his hands. He finishes above the rim and plays very well through contact when attacking. Smith can knock down midrange jumpers and is capable of knocking down open three-pointers as needed. He should be an obvious target for scholarship-level programs.
6’8 ’27 Levi Evans (Eastern Wayne)
It doesn’t take long to recognize the overall appeal surrounding a prospect like Evans, who possesses an enticing blend between production and long-term upside. He’s an incredibly long, wiry forward with quality touch, finishing ability, and rebounding instincts on both ends of the floor. Evans moves well without the ball and consistently finds ways to make an impact within the flow of the action. He possesses nice mobility for his size/position and runs the floor effectively in transition. Despite already having clear value on both sides of the ball, Evans is only going to get better as he continues to add strength.
