6’1 ’27 Samajae Govan (Big Shots Gurley)
Easily one of the most electric players on display, Govan had absolutely no issue asserting his presence as a dynamic two-way guard. He’s incredibly quick, shifty, and able to get basically wherever he wants off the bounce. Govan is a crafty ball-handler and overall scorer with the ability to aggressively mix up his scoring approach from all levels. He breaks down defenders and touches the paint at will, where he puts pressure on the rim and finishes very well through contact for his size. Govan also knocked down jumpers, both off the catch and bounce, and made quality passes to set up others in scoring positions. Defensively, he’s quick, scrappy, and anticipates very well to force turnovers and highlight his speed in the open floor. Govan should have several suitors at the next level.
6’5 ’29 Ayo Awosanya (Maadwest Elite)
Clearly the leader and focal point of this Maadwest Elite group, Awosanya continues to find success by being one of the most productive players in the gym. He’s a strong, athletic, physically advanced player with the size and versatility to cause problems for opponents on both ends of the floor. Awosanya is a tough, rugged piece who excels at putting pressure on the basket, both as a downhill threat and interior cog. He finishes very well through contact and plays above the rim, but also appears comfortable handling the ball and knocking down jumpers at a solid rate. Awosayna is a capable playmaker with the ability to consistently create open looks for others due to the attention he garners as an on-ball threat. He also defends with physicality and secures rebounds at a high rate for his size/position.
6’2 ’28 Jeremiah Harper (RR Elite)
Although this team had multiple guys stand out as difference-makers, it’s extremely difficult to overlook everything Harper brought to the table. He’s a dynamic, skilled guard with smooth playmaking instincts and three-level scoring polish. Harper effortlessly filled it up as a scorer while reliably creating for others, making defensive plays, and impacting the game with or without the ball in his hands. He displayed nice IQ, pace, and vision when attacking off the bounce. Harper finished well at the rim, knocked down pull-ups at a quality rate, and hit jumpers from beyond the arc whenever available. He defended with energy and toughness, and forced turnovers well to create transition opportunities. Expect Harper to have a notable upcoming season.
6’7 ’28 Brice Wiersma (Superfriendz)
Despite being a notable name for several years, it’s easy to see how much Wiersma has elevated his stock within the recent months. He’s a highly skilled forward with a strong combination of IQ, touch, and inside-out ability. Wiersma has visibly transformed his body over the last year and now appears quicker, more fluid, and more explosive. He’s able to create matchup problems with his ability to score out of the post, attack off the bounce, and space the floor from beyond the arc. Wiersma rebounds his position, provides consistent effort defensively, and runs the floor well in transition. He played up an age group and found consistent success on both ends of the floor. Wiersma should only continue to collect offers.
