6’5 ’29 Elijah Fapojuwo (AWigg Elite)
Easily one of the most enticing prospects in the gym, there’s already so much to like about Fapojuwo’s game. Despite still being so young, he possesses excellent feel, physical tools, leadership qualities, and the ability to impact the game in a variety of ways on both ends of the floor. Fapojuwo has the size, skill, and athleticism to operate in all types of roles while doing basically everything on the court. He can initiate the offense, create for himself and others, and mix it up well as a scorer from all levels. Fapojuwo is a reliable defender and rebounder who consistently outworks opponents for extra possessions. Already showcasing the makings of a very appealing all-around prospect, he has truly all the tools to be a noteworthy player.
5’10 ’27 Owen Hancock (Dub Salem)
Still clearly one of (if not the) best shooters in North Carolina, Hancock continues to deliver for this Dub Salem squad. For opponents that haven’t found out yet, you simply cannot leave him unattended. It’s truly amazing that after hitting three, four, five, or however many three-pointers, opponents still let him out of their sights. To his credit, Hancock possesses deep range, a quick release, and moves extremely well without the ball to find openings within the defense. He’s a willing passer who keeps the ball in motion. Hancock attacks closeouts as needed, but typically looks to play to his strengths as an elite marksman. He remains an intriguing prospect for college coaches.
6’3 ’29 Gus Phillips (AWigg Elite)
Given his consistent willingness and desire to do all the little things for this group, it’s easy to appreciate everything Phillips brings to the table. He’s a long, wiry wing/forward with a high motor and extremely low-maintenance identity on both ends of the floor. Phillips naturally finds ways to involve himself in the action. In addition to playing hard, he’s tough, scrappy, and doesn’t shy away from physical play on either side of the ball. Phillips defends and rebounds much bigger than his size, and is a better athlete than opponents seem to think. He positions himself for success and displays a strong nose for the ball. Add in his ability to fill in the gaps offensively by finishing, spacing the floor, and making the extra pass, and his impact is clear.
6’0 ’32 Jamaree Cole (Carolina Shooters)
Though young, the intrigue is fairly obvious with a prospect like Cole. He’s already a long, fluid piece with great size, athleticism, and a frame that looks likely to continue stretching out over the coming years. Despite towering over everyone else on the court, Cole showcased the ability to make plays with the ball in his hands. He’s developing his overall creation skills, but already knows how to finish or knock down jumpers along the perimeter. Cole utilizes his terrific length to consistently force turnovers and secure rebounds. Given his array of tools, it’ll be fascinating to follow his continued growth.
